Choosing A Career For Your Life - 870 Words
Itââ¬â¢s hard to say I donââ¬â¢t know what I want to do when I finish college. Iââ¬â¢m suppose to have this idea of what I want to do for the rest of my life and be devoted to that career for the rest of my life. ââ¬Å"So, what have you decided to study?â⬠is a question I have heard from parents, teachers, grandparents, uncles, aunts, friends, co-workers, and just about everyone else that says they know me. I donââ¬â¢t know how I am supposed to just know what I will do for the rest of my life. Choosing ones career should be a decision based over a long period of time, and after being exposed to many different experiences. And in order to acquire the best career for yourself you must make the decision, only you know what is best for you. In my senior and junior year of college I was just about set to start studying mechanical engineering. I liked math and you could earn a lot of money in the industry. But, I found it was not for me. I joined a program that gave you hands on experience with engineers in the construction industry. After a few months in the program I realized that I found this work boring. And I simultaneously realized that the money was not worth a lifetime of boredom. All my life I though I would earn enough money to be comfortable, I never though about career I would do that with. The thought that my job could also be rewarding never crossed my mind. I realized I needed to take a step back and think about what I want to do.
